GibbsCAM Essentials – Live Online
Each course consists of 8 morning classes, Tuesday through Friday for two weeks.
Description
We show how to harness the power of GibbsCAM. Showing how to generate productive machining strategies while adopting best practice skills is what our training is all about. Proven curriculum will be presented by exceptional instructors. The live online environment allows students to ask questions which will be addressed quickly and clearly. With no travel requirements participants can literally be anywhere, at work or perhaps in the comfort of their own home. Temporary GibbsCAM licenses will be provided at no extra cost. CAM training is known to be a great investment. The benefits will begin immediately and continue well after the course has paid for itself.
Pre-requisites
This course is designed for the entry level GibbsCAM user. There are no pre-requisites. The Production Milling for GibbsCAM FREE Cognus course is recommended. Click Here to get the details.
Computers
Recommended hardware:
- 2 monitors are recommended. One to run GibbsCAM, the other to display the instructor’s screen.
- Note: the system we use does not have a dial-in option. Speakers and a microphone or headphones with microphone will be required.
- High-speed Internet Connection.
- Windows 10 (with all available Windows updates).
- Intel: Core i9, i7, or i5 with four or more cores or AMD: Ryzen or Threadripper.
- 8GB RAM.
- A quality Nvidia or AMD (ATI) 3D accelerated video card with the latest drivers installed.
- 2GB of available hard drive space (for virtual memory usage and temporary file storage).

Is The Training Described Above Video Training?
No, the training described above is on-line training with live instructors. It is not video training such as Cognus. It is much closer to classroom training.
Can You Provide More Information About Cognus Video Training?
Cognus on-line video training is an excellent supplement to our courses. We recommend all GibbsCAM beginner users to take the free course which can be found at the following link:

We have found that the more complex the material is, the better suited it is to live training. That is the reason we are offering the live online courses using Zoom.

a. GibbsCAM Essentials – (Introductory Course)
There are no pre-requisites
The Production Milling for GibbsCAM FREE Cognus course is recommended.

b. GibbsCAM Advanced Concepts – (Advanced Course)
Pre-requisite – The GibbsCAM Essentials Course or experience and knowledge of basic GibbsCAM.
If the Essentials course was not taken before by the participant, then equivalency can quickly be determined during a short call with an instructor. Send an email to me at chuck@westcam.co to setup a time for a call.
c. GibbsCAM 5-Axis – (Multi-Axis High Level Course)
Pre-requisite – GibbsCAM Advanced Concepts Course or experience and knowledge of Advanced GibbsCAM.
If the Advanced Concepts course was not taken before by the participant, then equivalency can be determined during a call with an instructor. Send an email to chuck@westcam.co to setup a time for a call.
