No, the training described above is on-line training with live instructors. It is not video training such as Cognus. It is much closer to classroom training.
Cognus on-line video training is an excellent supplement to our courses. We recommend all GibbsCAM beginner users to take the free course which can be found at the following link:
http://courses.cognus.co/courses/introduction-to-milling-tutorial
For higher-level course material, the Cognus Premium Package covers a wide range of topics and is available at the following link:
http://courses.cognus.co/courses/cognus-premium-subscription-package
Pricing for the Premium Package has been reduced temporarily from $495 to $295.
We have found that the more complex the material is, the better suited it is to live training. That is the reason we are offering the live online courses using Zoom.
We are planning to offer a 5-Axis course in July. All students will have to be up to a certain level in order to take this course. The pre-requisite will be the completion of the Advanced Concepts course as described above. We are paying a lot of attention to preparing this course and we will let everyone know more about it soon.
A computer with two monitors is recommended. One to be used for the GibbsCAM application, the other to display the instructors screen. A microphone or normal phone will be required for audio. Speakers or headphones will be required for listening. Headsets seem to work well.
